Amniocentesis Experience

Sorry! Totally forgot about the updated belly photo. AGAIN! The number of Chromosomes for a Non-Down syndrome baby is 46. Sorry for the mix up.

  1. you're so strong. I went through the procedure, so scared, and can agree it was very uncomfortable and scary! having faith and praying is why your baby is okay and I'm happy for you. my results also turned out negative and I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one to go through something this difficult.

  2. So happy to hear that your results turned out false positive, as in not down-syndrome.
I wish you nothing but the best for the rest of your journey, and hope you follow me along the way!

  3. my first child had down syndrome and a heart defect. i found out the day she was born. threw my whole pregnancy I was told I was having a health baby. so now that I'm pregnant again I decided I needed to know exactly what's going on to prepare myself and have a piece of mind. I just had the amniocentesis done and I wasn't scared at all. I did lots of research and the genetics prepared me and the doctor and nurse made me feel so comfortable. After they sterilized my stomach and found where he was going to poke me it was quick. it didn't hurt at all. the whole procedure took about 3 or 4 minutes and it was done. I think the hardest part is waiting for the results.

  4. Fun facts: babies are in the uterus, not the stomach.
We don't have a downstairs… We shouldn't have any stairs in our bodies!
