♪ [music] ♪ My name is Dr. Rhonda Halcomb.
I’m a Obstetrician/Gynecologist with Centennial Women’s Group located at
TriStar Summit. I attended school in Alabama, I did my undergraduate studies
at the University of Alabama. Went on to medical school at
University of Alabama School of Medicine. I first knew that I wanted to be an OB/GYN
when I was in medical school. Although I didn’t go to medical school
with the plan of that, but I knew right away that I loved it.
I had a knack for it and so I decided to specialize in it.
I trained with interest and continued to like to take care of higher risk
obstetric patients. We take care of patients when they are very vulnerable,
and awkward and lots of times happy, sometimes sad, but I want patients to
always feel comfortable no matter what the situation. A patient will bring their
child into the office that’s two or three years old that I delivered and they say to
that child, “This is the doctor that delivered you. Did you know that’s the
first person that ever held you.” Now, when I see my patients back with
their families, the impact that I’ve made on their lives, it strikes me,
because I never anticipated that. That’s what I’m most proud is that I had
such an important role in these families over the course of the years and that I
had such a positive impact on so many and I have enjoyed that in my practice,
and I have been honored to play that role. ♪ [music] ♪
