Emotionally Healthy Discipleship – Stop Mind Reading


I didn’t realize how much I went through life, how I just sort of
navigated through life, assuming what other people thought about me, because I felt responsible for how other people perceive me. And so it was like I was constantly walking out egg shells, and reading between the lines, so I ended up cutting off a lot of people because of that, and because of feeling very responsible, and like no one else is responsible. Learning how not to mind read freed me from that responsibility, and and made me realize like, “I should ask more questions”. It was like a series of moments where I kept relearning like yeah, I really should have asked first. I really should have checked with that person before reading their mind.
