Irregular Menstrual Periods

Irregular Menstrual Periods

(tranquil music) – It’s a little bit difficult question ’cause there’s such a broad range in what’s considered
normal for a woman’s cycle, which can be anywhere from
21 days to generally 35 days, and there’s still some variations in what people think is
still normal at that point. Sometimes the stress of surgery can cause a change in your periods, and that can be expected. Sometimes endometriosis makes things a little bit more complicated as well. So I think it’s important to sit down with your provider
though, and look at things, and sometimes there are
some lab work that we can do to look at some hormone levels and see if there’s anything
that is out of the ordinary or that can explain the irregular cycles. We also have treatments for these things so that we can make the periods a little bit more regular again with something like a birth control pill, but it’s important to
probably be evaluated if this is a change for you. (upbeat music)
