Our group is a hospital-based women’s care group of four physicians and we are part of a larger group of HealthONE physicians spread throughout all of Denver, practicing at all of the HCA hospitals Well after 23 years in South Denver it is gratifying that I’ve attached with patients, their children, their families and this year, right now, I’m delivering babies of babies that I’ve delivered early on in my practice. That’s when I knew I was getting advanced in my years when that happens. But what is most rewarding to me about being an OB/GYN over the years is relationships that I’ve developed with patients, their families seeing their children grow and then come to me in the young teenage years hopefully making a positive impact on
their lives and benefitting their overall health and well-being. So I’ve done some student teaching over the years I’m an assistant clinical instructor
with the University of Colorado. I have enjoyed being able to teach students. Probably my years of experience and hopefully some
wisdom will give something back to the next generation of young physicians. It’s fun to see them progress and give them the helpful hints I’ve learned over the years The benefit of technology nowadays is that we are able to monitor the baby during labor when we’re not even there
with them patients reassured to know with this phone app, we can actually watch the baby, their heart rate the progressing labor and their vital signs right next door in the office be able to respond if anything needs to be done. My spiritual walk is very important to me In each day before I drive to work, I say a prayer the Lord will give me wisdom empathy to really connect
with my patients before surgery again I say a little prayer that all will go well, my patient will recover well and really helps me I think to lead a more well balanced life my patients feel that way too. I have a lot of interests outside of work. I run, I have run several marathons, ultramarathons I play in different tennis leagues, I love to ski and my wife and I hope now that our kids are graduating college, we will have time to do more of these enjoyable activities.
