My name is Terry Payne. I’m a family
nurse practitioner and certified nurse midwife here at Crossing Rivers Health.
I came to midwifery initially, I suppose, beginning with the birth of my own
children. I was a very young mother and realized right away that I loved the
entire process from pregnancy through the labor process and even having of
course my small children. My practice is full scope family practice. So, I of
course as a midwife, care for women and their babies – women through the
pregnancies that go from early pregnancy, labor, and post-partum, but not only that, through their lifespan. So, I also do well-woman care through
menopause. As a family nurse practitioner, I see children and men and everyone of
all ages. I love so many things about what I do. I think the biggest thing is
just the families – getting to know families, the moms, the dads, the children – and getting really close to them. Pregnancy is a very unique time in a
family’s life. Being able to participate in that, it makes that bond between the
family and their provider very special and it’s a very strong bond and it’s
just really fun to go through that process with people.
