Nancy Denlea, M.D., Bio Video

My name is Nancy Denlea. I practiced
ob/gyn at southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. I guess I chose a
specialty because it was exciting but it was also very satisfying and I really
was gonna become a pediatrician but I like ob/ GYN more. Obviously it’s fun
with some buddies in labor they come in and labor and get the opportunity to
deliver them but the most magical part for me is when a mom or dad holds their baby
and the baby stops crying because they hear the mom with her dad’s voice.
They’re away from the doctor the way from the nurse and that’s it’s that
little special bond that the parents have with their baby that to me is just
like the neatest thing the world and that’s the one thing I really look for
every time I deliver a baby. I’m like let mom have that or lived at home cuz then
the magic comes out so when I’m not delivering other people I’m spending a
lot of time at home with my own family and doing whatever we need to do you
know we go hiking we go hiking we go swimming we read my Legos Southeast
Georgia and particularly this hospital is a great place to work because we have
every kind of specialty available most every kind of specialty available so if
you need to refer somebody it’s easy to do so but it’s not a giant institution
where people become just numbers people are individuals and each patient is
addressed and approached in an independent individual fashion so we
take care of each person.
