Reed Wedding – Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center

so dearly beloved we are gathered here today before God and these witnesses, to join together Bill and Jennifer in Holy Matrimony. [music] On tuesday, I was called and I was asked to go to a family meeting with the physicians of Jennifer and we talked about her condition really wasn’t going in a direction she wanted it. Her hopes that would go in and that we were looking more toward a comfort approach to her care and one of the things she mentioned in that meeting is a regret was that she and Bill never got married and I said, oh, don’t you worry about that. If you need to have that done here, it won’t be the first time and we get absolutely help you with that. And then the next day she asked me to come and help them, so I did. [music] By the authority invested in me by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, it is now my privilege to pronounce you husband and wife. And so now that you’ve already beat me to it, [laughter] you may kiss your bride. You just do what people need to have done and for every person in every situation is different and for this one, it was important to Jennifer that she got married to Bill. She’s been with him for 12 years. And that was a wish she hadn’t fulfilled. Everybody just jumps into high gear and does what needs to be done because it’s the right thing for the patient. [music ends]
