Sayre Health Center 8th Annual Health Fair

So today with a seer health centers 2019
health fair what I hope comes from this event is more unity more awareness
to the importance of our mental health and self-care you know a lot of things
don’t get done because of a budget but our message is self care is free
exercising being more mindful of your surroundings of who you are and the
healthy things that you can do to clear your mind this event was very very positive. A lot of people
don’t know the resources that are out there so to be able to have come to the
hood and get the elders and young people the youth the teenagers everybody everybody
just to get them to be knowledgeable of work type of resources when it comes to
health it’s very beneficial As far as what I mean to this event.. I think that what we offer is a simple practical way to help people be the help that they actually need. That they don’t even realize themselves that they actually need So we are from the Philadelphia Health Department This is our “Take Control” condom distribution program. It’s aimed toward adolescents in Philadelphia between the ages of 13-19. and it’s a way for them to get free condoms, sexual health information to decrease the STD rates in the city We came out here.. I’m from West Philly, so it’s a great oppritunity to give back to our seniors and give out information. We know now “Health is Wealth”. we wanted to be a part of this community event to give information and help wth Blood Pressure screenings give out information about the services that are available, and just to help. Today I’m hoping to inspire women, as well as men and get them excited about jewelry..and to wear it. I just want to say thank you. Thank you
for Sayre Health Clinic. Thank you for Sayre high school. Thank you for the
community. Shout out to the children that’s facing distractions. Shout out to the
children that’s going through mental health issues My name is Nur Ali, stage name “Officer Bop” which y’all know me as in the streets of Philadelphia. Thank you so much I love each and every one of
y’all. Let’s give them a big hand. They’re all that. Let me say hello to you, God Bless you. We all have to love one another in this
community, that’s how we make it We have the 18th District doing arts and stuff with kids. We just had a really good time today. We had over 50 resource vendors. A lot of education, a lot of fun. Anything that we want to get done we can do it we already change we are the voice. Some of the things that we’re doing that we’re getting rolling I haven’t seen anywhere else in the country whether it’s a GED program or
arts and stuff and to be here today with with everybody to me honestly is just
touching and moving. We’re doing a lot in the community so stay tuned. We have a lot of projects that we’re going to be putting together that we have in the
making but we need your help well we need your support The community saw the
Health Center in a different light, we’re not we’re just not here you know as a
health center but we’re here to join the community and most importantly want to
make them aware of free and low-cost services that’s available. Not even to sound corny or cliche but the best part was that everybody came together
no nonsense everybody came, worked together and made a nice event. But we always get to hear what people
are really doing behind the scenes and behind the scenes they’re really holding
us down. So I want to say thank you to them give them a round of applause, because they’re awesome.
