Social Media and Fitness – Nuffield Health

You’re making me look really vain. I think that social media definitely has had negative impact in the last few years. The way it’s gone, there’s a lot of stuff out there which isn’t healthy for
us to be feeding our minds with. I’ve felt the same, I’ve been in the same position
before as well you see these people that are on social media and everything
looks perfect. I don’t like to look at these, especially pictures of people
where it’s deemed that they are the norm. These photos that we see on Instagram are
probably edited. A lot of things can be hidden and can be rearranged or modified.
How they look at Instagram is not how they look in real life all the time. A
lot of people that are actually posting are either professionals and that is
their role. Don’t feel like that’s something you need to aspire to. I’m sure they’re taking a lot a lot of pictures and found that one good picture
and I think that goes for everyone. But that’s not to take away the fact
that some people that are on there have put in the work and effort. Everyone
starts at that point of wanting to approve themselves. So, really look at
it as a goal, look at it as a bit of motivation instead of putting you off the
gym. You’ve got to remember that they’ve done six, seven, a year’s worth of
training to get to where they are. Everyone just wants to represent their
best self. Don’t follow people that are gonna make you feel bad. It’s all about
what you want to do, what you want to achieve and how you’re going to get
there. You have your own journey, motivate yourself to push through your own limits
and you’ll get super far.
