(jubilant music) – What Orlando Health
is really trying to do with innovation is to create a platform, that’s a multi-faceted approach. To set us up to be ready for the future. To be the healthcare system
that the Central Florida community and beyond needs us to be. – It’s been an incredibly
positive experience, to see Orlando Health’s interests in cultivating ideas from team members. – When a large organization
is willing to work with a very early start-up,
they see an opportunity to develop new ideas that may not evolve from a larger structure. – It makes me feel as though
I have created something that the organization is
willing to stand behind, in order to move this
forward to the next level. – Everyone in health
care that we work with has phenomenal ideas, but helping them find focus and find a way to turn that idea into something real, is just an awesome feeling. – So I think Orlando Health is doing a great thing and being forward looking, because a lot of health care innovation ultimately impacts the hospitals. And historically, a lot of the innovation has been done outside
of the hospital setting. But really, the patients, the care, is all being delivered inside
the health care networks. And so I think it makes a lot of sense for the networks to take advantage of that care that they
provide, and make it better. – I think the Foundry is this think-tank, where some really smart
people from Orlando Health, and outside collaborators,
and inside collaborators, get together and make ideas a reality. – The Foundry is the way that we are identifying those ideas
that really rise to the top. They’re ready for someone like Healthbox to come in and really
help a business case, and figure out, where is this gonna fit? What impact is this idea gonna have? – Orlando Health recognizes that innovation plays a big
piece, allowing people to think freely, to know
that their ideas matter, and that the organization will listen and actually do something about it. That, in itself, is really different, and is something that is really needed. – Many of the team members and
physicians of Orlando Health have great ideas about how
to help their patients, and they’ve, I think, very wisely chosen a program like this to try
to make those ideas flourish, and ultimately improve patient
outcomes and patient care. – The Foundry, to me, is a way that we are becoming
more nimble, and agile, and we’ll be able to implement ideas much quicker than we would
have been able to before. And source ideas from really
the entire organization, from our frontline team
members, physicians. Things that people in a corporate office might not necessarily think of. And so I think we’re democratizing the growth and innovation
that we know we need to have.
