When should I talk to my doctor about changes in my period? – Parkland Medical Center

ROBYN D. STEWART:
Women should talk to their doctor about
changes in their periods when it is concerning to them. The average menstrual
cycle ranges for all women. Anywhere from 21 to 35 days
can be considered normal. So if you’re having cycles
more frequently than that or less frequently
than that, you should mention it
to your doctor. Changes to your
periods can sometimes be a subtle sign of
other systemic diseases, and so that’s why it’s
important that you talk to your doctor to rule
out those other diseases.
