Women’s Health vignette featuring Kamila Alexander / We Got This

I tell people I’m a nurse all the time
and the first question that comes out of their mouth which hospital do you work at ?
And there’s talented to find out that I don’t work in a hospital now and I
never have and that I actually work in a university setting. In which I’m engaged in primarily research, I know that my research is important and has
huge implications for the health of women and their families. Because we’re
in the position to make really important programs and changes and assist with
policy-making to change the trajectory. I’m engaging use and asking questions,
learning about the prevalence of violence in communities, violence and
relationships and what I’ll do with that information and what I have done with
that information is not only disseminated it to the scientific
community but i’d like to turn the end to opportunities to share with the rest
of the communities. There are many different ways to practice public health
but the lion’s share of our focus is going to be on prevention of illnesses
disease. And there’s a way of managing that through development of programs for
larger groups of people. I am a teacher, I am a researcher ,I’m an advocate, I am a
staunch supporter of the nursing profession I’m Kamela Alexander I am
proud to be a nurse we got this.
