Wound Care and Limb Preservation Center at Swedish Covenant Hospital

The Wound Care and Limb Preservation Center
at Swedish Covenant Hospital is a comprehensive treatment center for chronic, non-healing
wounds. Our team of doctors and nurses are specifically
trained to treat wounds that have resisted healing after months or years of traditional
treatment. We have a team approach. If we have a vascular wound that needs something
immediately, we can call within 24 hours and a patient is undergoing treatment, and that’s
something that sets us apart from others in that we’re able to see the treatment modalities
that that patient had in the past and now we’re able to tailor the treatment to that
patient. And we’re able to explain it to the patient. Make the patient part of the team so that
they feel like they’re involved in their own care. Most of the patients that we see, especially
the ones that have been treated at other centers, they don’t know why they’re being treated
in a certain way. We want to make sure that they understand
with comprehension what we’re doing and why we’re doing it and that just helps us to make
sure that they follow the treatment plan. From compression therapy and antibiotic therapy
to debridement and diabetes management, the Wound Care Center offers a range of advanced
treatment options to meet your specific needs. We always try to put ourselves in their shoes. How would it feel to have a wound on your
lower extremity for four years without healing? It is not a pleasant feeling. So we try to put outselves in the patient’s
shoes and show compassionate care with them and show an understanding that they’re going
through a lot. I think that the Wound Care Center team is
great. I think it’s excellent. To me, it’s the best experience I’ve ever
had. My goal when I became the director of the
Wound Care Center was to get a 93% heal rate on average. Over the last six to seven months we’ve achieved
that. I’m extremely proud of that. For mroe information or to make an appointment,
