Your Health Matters – YMCA Fitness Myth #2


I believe a lot of times people feel
intimidated. They think again they have to be ready for it or they need to be in
command to understand it and the truth is the group X instructors love love
love to have new people come to class. Group exercise classes are a community – it’s people that are supporting each other and you’re not the only one the person
next to you it may be their first or second time. Frequently we have members
that will go in and they’ll go in for the first 20-30 minutes and that’s
enough and you know what that’s okay because
you’re doing something and that’s what’s important so getting in there letting
the instructor know you’re new is also another great thing to do. The instructor
can cue a little differently or help you through and give you some advice or
modifications so group fitness is for everybody every size every level every
age and that feeling of accomplishment of making it through a class is a
wonderful thing
